I have a bit of leak on the plate that mounts to the side of the trans, next to the shifter. It's only a drop or two here and there but it bugs me. I pulled out the parts book and it shows that there is all sorts of stuff attached to this plate. I was hoping it was a flat plate and I could just permatex it and be done. Should I screw with it? How hard is it to get all the pins, springs and rods in the right place to put it back together?

Also how low should the idle be on that tractor? It seem to be idleing high but I don't know how far to back the screw off..200 RPM? 400 RPM?

Thanks

Not that big of a deal Chris. Every thing stays intact. Putting it back in just requires you to enter the two forks into the grooves on the slide gears. I have taken the side plates off and put them back in out in a field. You might have to take a coupla shots at getting the grooves to stay lined up. It does not take much of a bump for them to slide away from where they need to be for the forks to enter the grooves. The shifter has to enter into its place as well. You will be able to see when you have it apart.
