I recently bought a real nice G. Looking for the s/n I found a flat area with no s/n above the cast in (TRACTOR NO) on top of the xmssn housing. Yesterday I looked at two other G's and found the s/n stamped into a flat area below the (TRACTOR NO). Possibly a new housing? How can I determine year built? Was a sickle bar mower sold for this tractor?
Thanks, Larry

Larry,

I don't have the answer about serial number, but there was a sickle mower built for the G. My dad has 2 G's one with a "belly mower" built by Woods Brothers and the other one has a Sickle mower..not sure of the mfg. but can check. I'm also looking for the gear shifter for a G..his broke off just below the base of the swivel knob...any help of where to locate one would be of great help. We tried welding...keeps breaking and/or sliding out of the shifting slots.

Thanks

Can't help with the serial #. But a sickle mower was built for the G. I have 2 or three of them.
