My friend just bought a rc Serial RC7372. From what I can tell it's a 1941. But how many total did they make? With 4400? being the starting # for 1941 he must have one of the last ones made. It had Spoke wheels on the back that were exeltent. but he had a buyer for the and put on wc rims. Just one of eight projects he has going onlt two don't run and drive.

Bob;

Check the serial number of the the engine. It should be about the same as the tractor. Don't expect it to be actually the same though. I have an older RC and the serial of the engine is about 9 numbers greater than the number stamped on the rear end.

The engine serial number is on the back flange of the engine where it joins the bell housing. It is right behind the air cleaner. The number will read RXXXG. R for RC, XXX is the number, G ( or K ) indicates gas or kerosene.

I found this thread interesting, I would guessed that the number was less that 4000. Also the source of parts in MN worth knowing. My tractor is working un restored tractor that we one time farmed with, however it is in need of a few things.

Terry Dean's book says 1939-41. Serial numbers 4-5504.

The way they stamped serial numbers, the "1's" could be mistaken for "7's".

Thank you, I'm now sure that it is # 1312. Also what parts interchange on a RC? Rims, fenders, Belt pully, etc.. I've looked at a few pictures and it seams they were very colse to a styled WC. My friends Uncle has been restoring Allis Chalmers for 30 plus years. His colection is extensive. Almost every early model and the knowledge of them. He said that RC had diferent rims than a WC. Also someone have any parts?

The RC does have some RC specific parts on it...gas tank, gas tank support, rims are narrower, from wheels are unique to RC, belt pulley was covered already but can be made from WC and C parts....probably more but can't think of any more right now.

Tractor is basically a WC with a C engine, so many WC parts fit. Differential gears are a different ratio. Belt pulley is a combo of two-WC pulley drive with C pulley on it. Try Ron in east central MN for parts at 320-983-3500.
