Model B Muffler

I put a new stock muffler on my B and it is just too loud. Any suggestions on what I can do to quiet this thiing down. I don't want a large loss of power by putting wrong muffler on. Hoping some one found a muffler that will quiet it down.

Have same problem with my 4 wheelers.

Joe;

You can adapt a later Series II D15 oval muffler to your B and it will quieten it down considerably, but if you don't want to cut up the hood it must be fully above the hoodline on an extension pipe, which will spoil the looks of the B. The round-muffler A-Cs were loud from the factory with that distinct A-C "bark". The 'straight-through' mufflers are just loud.
