Allis B Worth It?

I have a chance to purchase a 1950's Allis B in running condition with good sheet metal. The tires are shot and he wants $700.00 obo Canadian Dollars. Is that too much seeing as i will need to purchase tires? Thanks for any advice ---Jeff

Sounds worthwhile. You can easily pin down the year of this B. The serial number is on top of the transmission just in front of the shift lever. You should find B followed by a five digit number. The YT website has AC serial numbers listed by year.

if the motor dont need rebuilt, and it has a hydraulic pump on the back, i would buy it. new 24 inch tires arnt that high, and maybe you can get a good used set.

Since posting I have talked to him again, and he says that he'll go as low as $500 Can.Dollars! He thinks it is a '52 model with a mag- i was mistaken before about the running, he says it hasn't run in 6 yrs, but was rebuilt before that and is not seized, just needs the mag rebuilt. Thanks for the advice fellas!

just bought tires for my C, Firestone 10.2x24 were $100.00 each. New front tires with tubes $86.00 for the pair. I did my own tire mounting.

Allis B; If that rig is a 1953 Allis B it runs lo 1140, mid 1890 hi 2420. 4 cyl, 125cid gas, xmsm 4f-1r, 25 pto hp, 2850 lbs. I WOULD WARM UP THE PLATFORM TRUCK OR TRAILER RIG AND TAKE THIS B OFF THE CURRENT OWNERS HANDS. IN U.S. FUNDS YOU HAVE: PURCHASE OUTRIGHT 375
2 REAR TIRES 200
2 FRONT TIRES 172
TOTAL TO START 747 NOW COMPARE THIS TO THE MONEY YOU MIGHT DROP AT SEARS OR ELSEWHERE FOR A 25HP LAWN TRACTOR AND YOU WILL SOON MAKE THE PROPER DECISION/PURCHASE.

Hey Russ, I only gave $38 for each tire + $5.00 for tube, total for both tires and tubes was $86+ change. Just to clarify

Thanks Russ, i went to see it today and gave him a deposit on it. I got the serial # and it tells me that it's a 1941 Allis B, has the early style front axle. The tin on this thing is just PERFECT! Thanks for all the replys.---JEff
