Does anyone out there know if AC put the 180s engine in the gleaner combines. I am looking for a compatable engine to repower the 180 with. Thanks for any ideas or insight.

The Gleaner G/GH used the 2800 engine....watched one sell (a hillside version even) at auction a couple of years ago for $200 with a nice running engine! Should have bought it, but it would have been a hassle to get it home.

Hey thanks a million for the info, I do sincerly appreciate it. I had no idea if they did, but I see gleaners often given away with wore out headers but good running engines. I found a 180 with a bad motor for 100 dollars and its in great shape. I could rebuild or totally do a swap for even cheaper I think. Again thank you.

Why not find a 190XT or a 200 engine and put that in? Even a 301 out of a combine may fit.

The 2800 is the naturally aspirated 301. The 2900 is the turbo 301

I guess it sounds like a few other engines or models will match the bell house eh? I wasnt sure what would fit but if the other would fit I will keep my eyes peeled, so a 2800 non turbo or the 190xt turbo. Is this the same engine base with just mods and a turbo or is the 190 bigger? I was hoping to bolt one up without having to do any mods. Thanks guys.

Any of the 301 engines will fit. This includes the 2800(non turbo), 2900(turbo), and the 649T(later designation of the 2900) engines. There are diferances in the timming cover etc between engines but will bolt to the bellhousing.

If you can find the turbo engine, you won't regret putting it in. May have to change the hole in the hood and think about putting the air preclaner on.
