My 175 has just started using about 1 to 2 gallons of oil in about two hours of putting up hay. After that it drops off to about a quart in two hours was wondering might cause this? This just started this hay season.

I'd look first for a hole in the oil pan. If it's burning oil at that rate the EPA is going to be after you for air polution. It most likely quits using oil after a couple hours because there isn't any left to use.
