B Model Carb Issues

I am still struggling w the carb on this B. I cleaned it up good, replaced the gaskets,needle,seat and it still wants to starve-Is this a common prob on this model, how do I correct,its hay season and I need this jewel to get it together !!

Lloyd,

Make sure the floats aren't to low. Also, you may have a chunk of dirt in the enrichment circuit or jet of the carb. We offer carb rebuilding and service. Also have carb kits in stock. Just need the type and number off the carb to fix ya up with the correct kit. Drop us a line if interested.....

if it is starving you are running out of gas. most common problem is external to the carb. pull the gas line off the bowl and drain the gas tank into a coffee can, see if it flows constantly and strong. might want to remove the sediment bowl and stand from the tank, flush out the rust. clean the supply tube, blow out the line.----- -after that, yes the carb is next. normally the float is too low and will not get enought gas in the bowl, or you have a plugged jut and not sucking up enough gas.--- last, if the intake manifold gasket or the manifold itself is leaking or has a hole, you will not pull enough air thru the carb to pickup the gas. chekc the backside of the manifold for holes, and see if the manifold ports fit tight to the head.
