I need some help gentlemen, I have a wd45 with a single wire alternator that someone previously had installed, the charging system works fine, but it has never had the ammeter or lights hooked up, just wondering if there is a schematic or wiring diagram that will show me how to rewire the system. I have found the 6v generator wiring schematic, but I want to make sure I am wiring it correctly for the 12v alternator configuration I have now. Any help would be greatly appreciated, also I am looking for a set of headlights and brackets to install on it, I will need a headlight switch etc. The alternator wire now just goes to the positive battery terminal, and I assume it would have to go to the new ammeter, then to the battery. Thanks, Brad Also, one other thing I noticed is that one of the front wheels is mounted with the dish part of the wheel out and the other is mounted with the dish part on the inside?

Check here. Duey has provided diagrams for just about every possible setup on a tractor. The diagrams are generic. Bookmark the page so you can find it again.

the alternator wire should go to the amp meter. the other side of othe amp meter goes to the + terminal on the battery. the starter is connected to the battery side of the ampmeter so the swithc does not show amps while cranking. the lights and anything else connects to the alternator side of the amp meter so that the lights show a discharge on the ampmeter, if the motor is not running. i have a simple diagram with a 2 pin alternator, just an extra hot wire. if you need a simple drawing- send e-mail --- [email protected]
