water pump rebuild

Does anyone out there know where you can buy a bearing and seal kit to rebuit a water pump for an old Allis C? It has to be cheaper than shipping water pumps around the country.

the trouble is the bearing is made to the shaft. the shaft is acutally got a grove in it and it is the inner race of the bearing. very very difficult to change it. nowif you wanted to take it apart and just put a seal in it, that would not be impossible, but the 60 year old cast iron will look very poor. as STEVE said, chances are it will start leaking again later on. Its possible to rebuild, i did one, but much easlier to just buy aonther pump.

Leroy,
It's much less aggravation installing a new one in the long run, and much cheaper too. Especially after a couple months and the rebuilt unit starts seeping again, and ya gotta' do the job all over again and tie up the machine. Do the job once. We have new pumps that are priced pretty reasonably. Drop us a line if interested....

I have a friend in the Oklahoma City area that has told me about an outfit there that has the parts or will rebuild it for you. When I get home this afternoon I'll find the name and contact info and post it. Somebody email me and remind me if it doesen't show up about 6 PM.
