I friend of mine has a operational Model 60 combine. It has been stored in a barn and is in excellent shape for something this old.

I can't seem to find any information on what such a machine is worth. Does anybody have any recent history on the value of this old combine? It was built between 1943 and 1949 when this model was discontinued.

William;

The 60 was built through 1952, when the 66 replaced it. The original 60 was replaced by the 60A from 1949-1952 and the 60A had a lot of improvements, but it still had a 5' cut and cylinder. A-C made a gazillion of the things, and around here (NC)a cherry one isn't worth much more than $100-$300, usually for parts. Everybody wants a Big Bin 66 or a 72. Several years ago I bought a 1957 model Big Bin 66 in good shape. It even had a straw chopper and extra guards and cylinder bars. I paid $300 for it and it cost me $200 to get it hauled 100 miles home on a lowboy. A 60 wouldn't have been worth the expense of the lowboy if it had been given to me. Maybe they're worth more where you live. Good luck!
