Did AC make a wheatland tractor in the late 40's and early 50's?

AC did make some wheatland D-17's. There is a pic.
in "the history of allis-chalmers" book.

By 'wheatland', you mean a standard tread wide front, low slung version- yes, it is the WF. Most parts are the same as a WC. Early ones were unstyled, later ones were styled.

Thanks for the reply. Did AC have any models that compared to the IHC W-9 or JD R?

There would be no direct comparison. W-9 is the same as the Farmall M engine, right? D17 would have more hp, but the wheatland was basically the same as a D17 with wide fenders- I don't think it had more weight to it. Might be the closest match. JD R was the first JD diesel, about 43 hp, lots more weight, and a true wheatland model. I have both the D17 and the R, but until I put the R back together, can't say much about drawbar pull. I'll bet the R walks with the AC behind, though!

The U and the A were large standard tread tractors, but production ended at the start of WWII. After that, light row crop tractors were the big sellers and they didn't make any more of the wheatland type tractors except for the WF like mentioned in an earlier post.
