what happened to the Allis Chalmers 7080?.

I have read some bad things about the 7080 model, but I was wondering how many 7080's were made and why I haven't ever seen one, not even in Fast Line Magazine. I have heard the engine didn't last long and melted injectors and such, but are there any survivers out there, or did they all get junked or what?. I see a pile of 7040's 7045's, and 7060's still around, but never a 7080. By the way, whats the difference between a 7040, and a 7045?.

7080 are very good tractors. we know three of them, first one have 10000 hrs on it, rebuilt the engine at 8000 hres. the other one have only 7400 hrs on it. run perfect. the last is a piece of scrap but still running. smoke blue since 10 years,tranny very noisy, rusty cab,etc. but always running. We have more problems with 7580 engine. convert 5 to Cummins power.

I've got a 7580, nice tractor other then the insulation in the front of the cab got loaded up with oil and dirt, gets real hot in there. Sat for almost 10 years (nieghbor never used it, bought with 3260 hrs i think he bought it with about 3240 or 3250 hrs) I think it may need the injector pump gone over maybe injectors, won't start hot and won't hold prime. Other than that no problems, except hydraulic pump losing prime, shoved draft control full forward and that stopped.
