I'm a member of an antique club and we are haveing our show in August. Here is the question. We are featuring Allis's this year. I restored a 38 modle B three years ago. It turned out very nice. I restored a 40 9N it took me two years to do it and I finished it up this spring. I must be getting better at it because it turned out very very nice. In fact I'm realy pleased with it. Now I can't decide which one to take to the show. Both have low serial numbers and they both look great. I guess I shouldn't be asking Allis people whether to take a Ford or an Allis but it is a tough decision. I can only take one, does anyone have any thoughts on it?

Just got back from one of our regular shows and we took our 1950 JD R, 1947 JD B, 2 JD 1 hole corn shellers, a 6hp Galloway engine, a 1 1/2 Lindsey Alamo engine, 1 1/2 IHC M engine, 1 1/2 IHC L engine, a burr mill, and a water pump and 6 30 gal garbage cans full of corn, Took everything in 1 trip with 2 pickups and trailers. It just depends on how you pack.

Love Allis tractors, but you rarely see a Ford at a show, because they are all home working for a living. Take the Ford. There will be plenty of B's there.

Just an opinion....love AC and Ford.

Take Care
Steve

Since you are asking this question on the AC discussion board, I'll give you the response you are looking for. If you can only take one, its got to be the Allis B.

You have a reason for not taking both?
Last year at our show I took an Allis Chalmers G, B, C, and three Olivers, a 66, 77, and 88.
Took several trips but I had fun. This year I may take two more.

Well I am a Allis man, but which are you the most proud of? I am sure they are both equally fine tractors. You did say Allis was the featured tractor. Will the rules allow you to loan the Ford to someone for a day?

The club is featuring Allis Chalmers this year. Take the B. Talk the club into featuring Ford next year. Then take the B again. No not really.
