Allis-Chalmers D-17 Hydraulic upgrade

Anyone have any ideas on how to (inexpensively) upgrade the hydraulic system on my D-17. I would like to use a three-point wood splitter and the chute control on my snowblower. I may , in the future replace the light duty loader with a heavier duty loader. Any ideas and/or rescources would be appreciated.

A common way to "upgrade" hydraulic systems on any brand is to install a front mounted pump driven off the front of the crankshaft by a special coupler and shaft. It is really not an upgrade of the existing system but a complete stand alone system with its own pump, tank, valve and associated hoses etc. In some applications it can be tied in with the tractors system but I don't think it is worth the work. It is the way to go for a loader on tractors with marginal or worse hydraulics.
