crawler track derailed

has anyone had any experience or pointers on putting a derailed crawler back on it's track..... track still in one piece...could not find the pin that is pulled to seperate the track..... ...HELP?! (please)

Just had the pleasure of helping a friend with the same problem. If the rails have some wear (especially), you can run the adjuster all the way back; then you use big pry bars to put the track back on the idler (if you have access to a bobcat, this is the easy part of the job). Then just run the adjuster back out to the proper track tension. Watch that the idler is not crooked with the track frame. Many times when you throw a track, you will bend the adjuster or finish off a bearing and won't notice until you have the track back on and move the tractor - the track comes off again. Good luck!
