We discovered an 1937 Allis Chalmers WC-11 Serial # 3423 in a shed on my wife's deceased fathers property. We were told by an old timer who used to work on these tractors that since the motor was free, that he could get it running. He needs a American Bosche magnito #CW fmx4b3, a spark plug wire set, a set of Champion J4J spark plugs. He also says that he is going to use a 12 volt batery on this 6 volt system.

Where can I find these parts and is he correct about the feasibility of using the 12 volt battery/

If your serial number is correct- it is a 1933. (Serial numbers are on the left side of this page). It should have a Fairbanks-Morse magneto- and don't use the Champion plugs.

My 37 has a Fairbanks Morris RV4 mag. Not a Champion fan, but has J8,s for plugs. It also has an add-on starter, beats cranking lol.

The last time I looked an original 1937 WC didn't need a battery, I think that came some time in 1938.
