I think it's a 1948 I was wondering what type of dope or what the mfgr. recommended useing in the trans. and gear box and the hyd.cyl.

the transmission, bevel gear and hydraulics are all one cavity. there are three 1/2 inch pipe plugs on the bottom of the three cases to drain. Refil with 8 quarts of universal hydraulic transmission fluid. you can get 8 quart pail at Wal Mart or local Farm Store. this is a 20wt hydraulic fluid. The final drives are two small sheetmetal pans inside the wheel rim area. you need to remove the dozen small screws if you are going to change this oil. clean the pans and re- RTV covers on with gaskets. add 2 quart of 90 wt gear lube into each pan thru its small pipe plug. for the motor i recommend 10w30 motor oil,same as your truck.
