Many of you have responded to my questions regarding my 47 Model B. Thank you! However, I still have problems with the tractor misfiring under load. This generally occurs after an hour of use. I have had the magneto rebuilt, carb rebuilt, changed the spark plugs (Autolite 295's), adjusted the richness setting, drained and cleaned the sediment bowl, flushed the gas tank. The spark plugs had about 30 hours of use and were badly fouled. That is why I replaced them. I use a 4' bush hog and a 6ft' disc with the tractor. Everybody that I talk to says that the B is more than capable of handling this type of load. Should I move on and stop throwing money at a useless cause or am I missing something that would be a simple fix (timing, bad compression, etc.) Currently, I spend more time working on the tractor (which I enjoy) then I do using the tractor. When the mag was rebuilt was the coil replaced? It could be breaking down when hot.

CHECK THE VALVE CLEARANCE WITH A WARM ENGINE. SOUNDS LIKE WHEN WARM THE VALVES MAY NOT BE CLOSING ALL THE WAY.
