I just bought a 1938 B. I also have a repair manual but it is missing a few items and I thougt maybe some one could share a little knowledge. The carb has two mixture adjustments, I assume these are idle and main, what are the initial settings on these and what is the procedure for the main jet? Second item is the value of the resistors in the light switch. My gen. is there but the rest of the components are gone and I am thinking of building a system. One more thing, anybody have an original draw bar and or foot brake setup for sale? Thanks, Brad

CHANCES ARE THAT IT IS NOT A 38 AS THEY DIDN'T HAVE ELECTRICS. FIRST MODELS WITH LIGHTS AND STARTER IS EARLY TO MID 40. THESE WOULD HAVE HAND BRAKES. CHECK YOUR SERIAL # BEHIND THE SHIFTER, 38 WOULD BE 101 TO 11799. 39 11799 TO 33501, 40 33501 TO 49720, 41 49720 TO 56781. BOB

Check E-Bay. There is a foot brake set up on there now.

Where are you located? I may be able to help you on the draw bar and brakes.
