I know this subject has been on this discussion page many times before but I have a D17 series 4 factory wired and a WD45 with a generator, voltage reg. etc. Both are wired idenitical. WHY DOES THE 45 OVER CHARGE OND START BOILING THE BATTERY ACID OUT OF THE BATTERY WHEN USING CONTINEOUS? The generator, voltage reg. etc are either new or rebuilt. Is there something about the generaor I don't understand. I have installed a on-off switch in the charging circuit, but I would like to know why I have this problem. thanks.

Check your voltage at the battery while it's acting up. It should be in the 13.5 to 14.5 range.

If the voltage is much higher than this, you have voltage regulator problems.

If the voltage is in the range above while the battery is slobbering YOU HAVE A SICK BATTERY, simple as that. And, yes, for reasons unknown to me, some batteries act like that. Try swapping the batteries.
