i have a wd that im almost done restoring and i want to sell for 2500 obo and buy a wd45 diesel and the man says it has been rebuilt and runs good and has alot of life left in it im wondering if this is a good idea its a wide front end and with gas being high i want to sell mine to plus you cant beat the sound of a 6 cylinder buda idling will it be easy to get parts for the diesel and the engine if i ever need to and what are the most common problems with the wd45 diesel? thanks

Stay away from the 45 diesel unless you have a lot of money and free time on your hands.
Some older farmers I know always said they were good tractors for about 3 to 4000 hrs. After that look-out! Head cracks,block cracks,fuel system, etc.,etc...
As far as the sound goes, I would MUCH rather hear
a WD/WD45 gas under load than smell diesel smoke all day. My 2 cents...

the parts aint cheep and must be ordered and the blocks crack very esay. trust me i know mine is junk i need a block if anyone got one.

they are very thin and i am sure they crack just by running them it is no big deal then it is when they start to spread it when it makes a mess of everything. every well almost every Allis has cracks in the block and no one knows why. take a good hard look at all the allis blocks wyou own they most likely will all be cracked. 4out of 4 at my house are cracked
