Allis Chalmers C Bottom Plow

I can't figure out why the bottom plow that came with my allise Chalmers C tractor just barely skims the dirt. It looks like the original plow. A "tow" bar gets mounted under the tractor with the hitch facing forward (under my feet). Near the hitch is a bar that comes up and connects to a lever I can operate from the seat. However, this lever allows me to only slightly raise and lower the front of the plow. The back of the bottom plow hits on top of the circular tow hitch bar that raps around the back of the tractor. I can't put the plow under the circular bar because then the plow will be too far down and I will not be able to lift it up then with the hydraulic piston. Also, when I let the piston drop the plow slides towards the middle of the rear bar althought the piston is to the right.

The rear drawbar has to be taken off when using the plow.

Thanks, seems obvious now but I didn't think the rear bar could come off because where it connects to the rear tire brakes, I had seen what appeared to be a big rivot with no access to get to the other side. I see it just pops out.
Tractor plows great (just moves from one side to the other side a lot).

DO YOU HAVE THE CROSS BAR ON IT? IT FASTENS BETWEEN 2 HOLES ON THE UPPER AND LOWER CROSS ARMS. IT STOPS THE PLOW FROM SWINGING TO THE LEFT. IF IT IS MISSING YOU CAN USE A CHAIN FROM THE OPPOSITE CORNERS TO DO THE SAME THING. BOB

There is a bar with a hook at the end of it (about 12" long) that is located on top of the plow but it isn't long enough to reach anything. Is this the cross bar?

IF THE "HOOK" IS ABOUT 10" LONG AND ABOUT 5/8" THICK, THAT'S HALF OF IT. THE OTHER HALF IS A HOLLOW TUBE THAT THE "HOOK" SLIDES INTO. TOGETHER THEY ALLOW THE PLOW TO MOVE TOWARD THE FURROW, BUT RESTRICT ITS MOVEMENT AWAY FROM THE FURROW. THE ROD "HOOK" ALSO HAD A MOVEABLE COLLAR [WITH A SET SCREW IN IT] ON IT TO REGULATE THE SWING TO THE LEFT. HOPE THIS HELPS. BOB
