I am currently helping my father-in-law rebuild an AC 190xt. The guy he bought this tractor off of did a real afro job of engineering on it. The clutch is really messed up. The friction disc is the four blade type and it is rubbing very badly on the pressure plate and the flywheel. The flywheel is to the point that it is questionable for a rebuild. It has a groove wore in around the bolts holding it to the crankshaft and on the friction disc is wore very badly on the flywheel side. It appears that only half of the disc is engaging on the flywheel side. The serial number on the engine is 2D-8054 and the tractor is 10240. Now my question is did this guy put the wrong parts in the clutch? I know that AC changed the friction disc starting with serial number 10207 to the four blade type and the earlier tractors used a round clutch disc. Also we think that this tractor mat have been rolled. What we think mat have been done with clutch is the older flywheel was used with the newer clutch. Would this cause the problems i described? If so, should I replace the clutch with the older type round disc to alleviate future clutch problems? I would hate to have to scrap the tractor for parts over something this simple. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also where can I find a good source for older AC parts?
