partially seized wd45

hope someone can help. I've got a 54 wd45 that the trusty old folgers can came off of over winter and let quite a bit of water in engine. the engine was seized good but i managed to break it loose by pulling tractor. after pulling for a little i dropped in battery and tried to start and it locked up tight again. i put 2 cans of pb blaster penetrating oil in pistons but had no success. I have now removed head and hammered on pistons with some results. I am hammering on #2&3 and can get them to move approx 1" but no further. Also I can se 1&4 moving also, but it seems the more I hammer on them the tighter they are getting. I can still get the 1" but its taking a lot of hits. Just to try something I drained old soupy oil and put in about 3 gallons of fresh oil in pan to cover main bearings. did that yesterday and will let it soak a few days. I'm hoping that someone out there may have had same problem and has an idea what else to try as I need to get tractor going. Shoul I keep pounding pistons down all the way to bottom or alternate back and forth with 1-4 down then 2-3 down or does someone else have a much better easier idea as I've been working on this for quite a while. Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Do you think it would do any good to drop oil pan and do ? Thanks for all the help.

More thought. Sounds like something is hung up. Pull the starter, perhaps the over running clutch is hung up in the flywheel. If the engine broke loose when you pulled the tractor, it should be loose.

You may have one or more of the valve tappets stuck. Try pouring some solvent down each of the push rod holes.

Let the solvent set for a day or two then rock the tractor back and forth to see if that doesn't loosen things up.

I wouldn't pound on the pistons any more since thay have moved all ready.
