Hi All, Hope y'all that are plantin' are havin' good luck. I'm fixin' to start as soon as I can come off the road for my "other job" and looking forward to it.

Got a question I want to run by y'all. Our little C has a front end "wiggle" when we're mowin' or discin'. It's a narrow front end. I've had the front end off the tractor and inspected the bevel gears and pinion, and when I reassembled it I only used one shim to seal the pedestal thinking I could take up the play in the gear train but no luck. At least I haven't been able to get it. I've serviced and adjusted the steering box and the steering rod is tight. I'm convinced the freeplay is in the front, but don't know what to do to "take it up".

Thanks,

Dave

If all the shims have been removed you can add shims under the gear on top of the upright shaft.
When the front is bolted togather you should feel any binding as well as not being able to feel play between the gears. A non tec. method.
