leaking transmission

This is on a WC Allis,The power take off shaft and the shifting shaft of the power take off both leak can I tighten that large nut behind univeral joint? And how do I do the shaft that puts it in and out of gear? Thank for any help Vince

I think WCs had a packing you could tighten, just enough to stop the leak, no more. On the shifter shaft on WDs anyway there is a standard lip seal. you can change it if so.
