Hello group. Does anyone know for sure if the starter and generator are supposed to be orange or black on a "G"? I would guess black, but I do not know for sure. And how about the muffler? Silver? Also, which bolt on the tractor is the positive cable supposed to ground to? It looks as if someone has welded a flat piece of steel to the transmission in order to have a place to connect to. I was wondering if it just grounded to the battery box mount or the seat mount? I know "technically" it doesn't matter where the ground path is, but I am doing this for "correctness", so if that piece of metal that it is currently grounded to needs to come off, I will take it off. Thanks. Dean.

Oh yeah,
The muffler should be a little pancake looking number painted black. The starter should be orange.

Hi,
From old pictures I have as well as my own G, the generator should be orange. Sometimes they came off the line with a black radiator, though, depending on which brand they used. Sometimes even the steering wheel was orange! I think the positive ground bolts to the battery box.
Hope this helps.
Dan
