We are looking at an AC crawler. The owner says it is a model Z. We can't find any reference for a model Z in any of our books. Does any one know if AC built a model Z? If not any guesses as to what this might be? It is about the size of a D2 Cat. Maybe a little bigger. It has a 4 cylinder gas engine with electric start. We can't find a serial number tag or any other data on it. Where do we look for the serial number on these older AC's? Any info will be appreciated.

Sounds like a model M to me. Over on the left of the page click on tractor photos and type "allis M" in the search box to get several photos. They were made in several versions including narrow and wide treads, orchard and logging.
