Hi I was wondering if anyone new what a British ED40 tractor was worth now? They were immigrated to Canada in 1963 and to the US in 1964. They only made 450 of these tractors. Please let us know soon!.

I don't know about the production numbers, but there was a lot of them around here. My neighbor bought three new ones in 1963, I had one, and there were at least another 20 in this area of central New York State. Mine got a rod knock a few years ago, and I could not find a source for engine parts. I couldn't even find a head gasket for the "Standard" engine, so I sold it "as is" for $600. I know of a dozen of the "English Diesels" that went down to the scrap yard. Good running and very economical little tractors though.

If you'll go to sandy lake implements site you can see a picture of a nice one they have on consignment. They are asking 3500 and it's been there for over a year and not sold. and I've seen two junks sell on ebay for 1200-1500 , so I'm guessing a decent tractor around 2800 ? just my guess from what I've seen. hth Mike

My information is that there are 450 Allis Chalmers ED40 tractors exported to the USA around 1964, total production is about 4000.
prices in Europe (Holland) are very low because it was not a popular tractor, good running condition about 1500 Euro.
