I am trying to get my G to fire and it isn't cooperating. I have fire to the plugs and the plugs are sparking. I have gas to the carb and when I take the carb off the top of the butterfly is wet so I can assume there is gas getting at least that far? When I took the plug wires and distributor cap off I marked where everything was and put them back on like so. It had run before we started taking it down to clean and paint.

Here is what i have as to that and since I can't find my I&T book maybe someone can tell me if I have the plug wires wrong. Looking at the engine from the manifold side the top wire on the cap goes to the plug at the rear of the tractor. The rotation is clockwise with the firing order I believe to be 1-3-2-4 with #1 plug being at the rear and #4 being towards the radiator. is this right?

I can spray a litle starter fluid into the carb and it will shoot a small flame out the exhaust so something is going up in there.... The plugs aren't wet but being as I don't know didly about a flat head motor I don' know if this is normal or not. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated :)

Ok now more trouble. I did have the firing order right, just went up and checked it. Any ideas now? If it hadn't been running before I would say the timing but I haven' moved any of that ( don't guess that means it could'n be off though...)If I choke it after a few cranks it will blow a blue flame out the ehaust. maybe I just need to get it out and pull it some? I have seen that work before...

Any other ideas are greatly appreciated! Oh and I did just find the book on it. Now if it only come with mechanic..:)

Yes the firing order is 1-3-4-2. #1 is on top to the rear. #3 right below it, #4 to the left of #3 and #2 is right above #4 which is on top on the radiator side. This is a long winded way of saying switch your 2 wires on the left and you should be OK.
