My 190 diesel runs bad under 1500 rpm's. It sounds like you are pushing the throttle up and down real fast, but over about 1500 rpm's it runs good and smooth. I thought i had water in fuel, so drained tank, changed screens in settlement bulbs, changed fuel filter, but did not help. Also it has gotten harder to start, you just about have to spray wd40 every time to start it, more so when it's cool. When trying to start it, it smokes out the exhaust but does not start very good, does not use any oil or blow any oil, but does make a lot of blue smoke till warmed up. Any help is appreciated, Ken.

Grew up operating a 190XT. Started running it when was about 12 I guess.

Had to rebuild the injectors and pump once. Ran great after that....but that darn thing never did start well when cold.

Hate to say, but probably the pump. An injector gone bad wouldn't lead to this, unless you have more than one gone bad.

Assuming the fuel supply is good, and no air is getting in the system, and have good feed (no blockages).

Assuming all things equal, start with the easiest solution, which it sounds like you already did...fuel cleanliness.

Great tractors. Ours was well used. Pulled 4 x 18 semi mounted plow with ours in heavy soil (clay).

The injector pump maybe going out on it, or the injectors are getting bad
