I have a 1962 Allis Chalmers D-14 and want to convert to 12-volt. Are there any kits available?

STEVE at B&B can sell you an alternator and wiring kit if needed. Really all you do is get an alternator off a car. MOst guys use the DELCO 10SI off a mid 1975-85 chevy car or truck. Very popular and them made several million. ( YOu can also get one at Auto Zone or NAPA for $40. rebuilt. Make sure it is the newere style with an internal voltage regulator. You can also use a 1985-2000 Delco alternator, but they cost more. I use a Mitsubishi off a HONDA year 2000 since it is very small. They take 1 or 2 wires to make them work. You need to make a bracket to fit the generator mount.----- -You then need all 12 volt lights and 12 volt coil or a resistor to drop coil voltage to 6 volts. You can do it yourself if you have the desire and we can help you, or call STEVE and he will fix you up. see him at Unofficial Allis dot com on the discussion page.
