Can anyone email or fax me a wiring diagram for a 12 volt generator and volatge regulator. I am assuming that as long as it is negative ground, hook up should be the same no matter the tractor. I would like a universal diagram for diagnostic purposes. thanks, Don

send me your e-mail address to [email protected] basically the generator has two contacts "A" and "F" or armature and ground. The voltage regulator has 3 terminals, "B", "G", and "F". the B is battery power from the amp meter, the G is generaotr or "A" on the generator and F is field, same as the generator F. The B power to regulator should be turned off with the key when not in use.--- to test a generator, ground the "F" to the case, start the tractor (or spin generator 1500 RPM with a motor) and read the voltage across the G and F termnals. should get about double what the normal battery voltage is. once the regulator is in the circuit you get 7 volts or 13.8 depending on 6 or 12 v system.
