D17 Oil Question

I just finished connecting a loader up to my tractor, and the loader was set up so that is has a gear driven pump that runs the hydraulics. This pump connected to the side of the tractor, so I had to remove a side plate.

Once I removed the side plate, a bunch of oil started leaking out where the side plate cover was, and there is a round spout on the top of where the side plate was that says Oil, and the dipstick says "Check with Ram extended"
I imagine the belt pulley would probably go in this spot, if it had one?

I am not certain what ram it is referring to?

Also, is it Gear oil that goes in where this side plate was?

It looked like faily thick oil that came out. I do have a owners manual ordered, but it has not arrived yet, and before I start operating the loader, I would like to make certain I have the correct oil where the gear driven pump is?

On WDs and 45s this was the belt pully opening. And it was lubed by the hydraulic system oil. I don't really know details about D-17s. They were the next generation of 45s though so much is similar. I would say hydarusic oil, straight 20 weight, or "tractor lube".
