WD 45 Hydraulics--need explanation

Can anyone explain the logic behind the plumbing of the hold position valve? It appears that only one of the two lift cylinders "holds" position. The left cylinder is connected to the hold position valve behind the check ball, the right cylinder and aux hyd connection (loader in my case) are in front of the check ball. Seems to me it would make sense to add a Tee fitting so that both lift cylinders are in front of the ball and to plug the valve port that is behind the check ball. I saw in a posting of a few years back that someone else did this but there was no explanation as to why the original setup is as it is. Comments?

Thanks!
Jack

I believe it's that way so that when you have a mounted cultivator, you can use the delayed lift and lower function. THis allows the front cultivator to be lifted out of the ground before the rear and to be lowered first so that everything is nice and even at the row ends. When you use this function, you move the hydraulic lever to the middle detent to lower the front then all the way down to lower the rear.
