Difference 190xt series I/II/III

If anyone can explain the differences between the different series available for this model, I would really appreciate it. I would like to also like to know how you can tell these apart physically. Thanks Hound

Series I 190xts came out in 1965. Seies II in 1966. All the first diesel XTs were changed for the factory warrany rear end. The straight 190s and 190xt gas tractor did not have the rear end exchanged but the production straight 190s and gas xts used improved rear end from there on. Allis never actually called any 190 a series I or II but what's known as the series II still had the bar grill and full fenders. The series II used a 2 pinion differential. The series III came out in 1969 with cut back fenders and a grill with no bars. The series III used a 4 pinion differential and slightly heavier transmission and final drives than the series II. The traction booster guage was also omitted by this time. The series III also came out with a Landhandler series in 1970. Although rated at 93 hp the 190xt, especially the later ones, produced from 100 to 110 hp or more.

Series One had the D19 rear end- too light for the 93 hp of the tractor- D19 was 63 hp. Factory had a warranty exchange, some were changed, some not. I don't know how many were changed, I think the axle diameter might indicate that, but I think all the Series III were the HD ones. Another case where you need to know what to look for.
