I have been a tractor collector for some time but this is the first Allis I have aquired. My question is that will the transmission and rear end from a D-15 be same as the one from a D-17. My D-17 need some transmission work on 3rd gear and I have found a D-15 and I was wondering if I could make it work if I swopped out the whole transmission and rear end. I do not have any knowledge on the Allis so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for any help.

Different transmissions. You'll have to get parts from another D17. If your new to Allis take that D17 out in a field with a mounted plow and be ready for a surprise. Or take it to a tractor pull with a wet heavy dirt or clay track. Puts much larger tractors to shame.

Like most features of our life, few things are all good or all bad, and most such judgments depend on our own perspective or viewpoint. In our particular hobby, we enjoy the nostalgic return to the days of our youth as we recreate many of the scenes that took place on the family farm that served as the stage for the first few acts of the play that is our live ...
