CA Hydraulic Questions

Greetings;
My neighbour just purchased an AC CA tractor. He is not sure of the year and is curious as to whether it has it's own hydraulic pump. I am not familiar with AC at all but it looks to me that there is a gear casing to the right of the PTO that has a small lever connected to it. Is this a pump? Also, looking at the back of the tractor, on the left hand side, half way between the seat mount and the wheel is something that looks like a hydraulic connection of sorts. It looks as if it has a removeable cap but I can't tell if it is an input or output port but does have a hydraulic hose connected to it. Any insights greatly appreciated. Cheers, Erik

P.S. Could anyone suggest a good place for him to purchase a shop and/or operator's manual for his tractor? Thanks again.

there should be two small levers on the right side. the small one coming out of the valve/pump is the raise and lower. you must have the pto shaft turning to have the pump operational. this is the second lever, probably sticking forward by your right foot. pull the lever up with the clutch pushed in. let the clutch out and the rear pto shaft will start spinning. you can now use the hydraulic pump. pump and vavle are one combination and use the transmission oil. system only uses a coupe quarts of oil and puts out 3000 psi, so it is limited, as JM said. pull up and you get pressure out. push donw and you you get "float" back to bottom.
