hi all my friend got a wd-45 he was wondering how to turn the belt pulley on he said he turned pto on but the belt pulley didnt work what lever makes it come on

Two posters mentions arrows. The arrow should have been stamped by the factory or dealer, indicating which hole in the pulley sleeve sets the proper backlash between the gears. The sleeve has a multiple of holes, but they are different distances from the end gear- the sleeve is rotated until proper backlash is obtained when the setscrew is tightened.

Above the pulley, on the frame or block is a big hex head screw with a lock nut on it. Back this off, push the pulley inward, being sure the arrows line up, move pulley shaft in and out a little as you screw the lock bolt back in until it seats in the slot on the pully shaft. Tighten down the bolt and lock nut. Do all this with engine off! The pully motion is controlled by the foot clutch. It should turn any time the foot clutch is engaged, even with tranny in neutral.

on the frame beside the pulley is a tee handle or maybe just a bolt. loosen it and slide the beltpulley in until the gears mesh. There should be an arrow on the frame and pulley to show proper adjustment alignment. This must be done with the engine off. An operators manual will give complete instructions. Roger
