As far as the spindle problem you describe, the trailer I'll put on the forward hitch is a tandem axle and I have adjusted it for nearly zero tongue weight. >>I've seen two ways to do this. I have weight on this B so the bracket used at the rear of the block to stablize the load be a bit less than straightforward but the job will be fun and I'm sure it can be executed to look great. If this doesn't work, I'm gonna put disk brakes on the tractor. I'm half wishing the front hitch mount won't do the job because I think the disk brake job and result will be a gas. >>The other way is to weld a set of mounting ears to the axle<< Even if I wanted to deal with steering the tractor with the hitch mounted to the axle, I'm more than leery of asking the 65 year old metalurgy and material to do well with the side loading that can be imposed by pushing around a 3500 pound trailer, particularly a tandem axle. One of my teeth, age sixty five, fell out tonight as I was eating ice cream. Can I expect that fragile looking, nearly ancient axle to do any better than my well used teeth? Thanks for the note, D13, I'm eager to know what else you have to say on the subject .... or others you may think are worthy. By the way, I've just ordered a manifold having decided to: at least bend up a two pipe custom exhaust that exits downward under the hood ... to end forever the water in the manifold problem and possibly to split the manifold to get a delicious sound. You ever seen such a setup? my best ..... .....
