I need help with selling my father's collection of antique tractors. He passed away in December after spending five months in a hospital. My mother would like to sell his tractors but, we have no idea what anything is worth. He has an 60 Oliver, and 4 other A. Chalmers. He has things such as Row Crop, clipper mill, Drill Planter, I don't know what they are and my mom is elderly and can't help much. I know some of the tractors are: WC 1935, WC 1939, Model B, D17, D14. He also has a hand corn sheller and a couple ingate seeders. How do we go about selling these and knowing what they are worth. He was a farmer all his life and loved collected regular and toy tractors. Any help would be apprecited. Thanks!

Where are you located? I will pass this information on to our local club and a regional AC Club.

Cheri,

What is your location? I or some of my collector friends might be interested in one or several.
E-mail me at [email protected], Tractors as subject. Thanks, Bob

also post your note on allischalmers dot com ---there are several guys tht would probably buy they whole set. you will not get top dollar doing that, but would get rid of everything. you can part them out one at a time if you have tahe patience. Post what state you are located in. HOw fast do you want to sell, and how long do you want to hold out for top dollar. You could have local auction depending on where you are and if number of local collectors are available. Condition of tractors is important. WC and B tractors not running are about $300. Running and beat might be $600. Very nice with good paint might be $1500. D14 -D17 depending on the age and condition is $1500- $4000.

According to what goes on around here, I would say your prices are realistic. Nothing too cheap or outrageous.

Hi Cheri,

I am going through the same situation you are as my father died last month and left 3 vintage 1940's Allis Chamers tractors and lots of old implements. My mother is elderly and it has been left to me to handle just as you. Your forum has been helpful to give me an idea where to start. I'm trying to find serial numbers today. Good luck in locating homes for your dad's tractors. I want to find buyers who will restore my dad's tractors and enjoy them as he did while farming for over fifty years. Handling machinery and grief at the same time is tough. Jenell
