Cleaning a B air cleaner

When I cleaned the air cleaner on my C (same unit), I found it much more effective to take the unit apart. If you pull the oil cup off the bottom, you'll notice an "X" type piece of sheetmetal crossing the bottom and will find that it is attached to the "can" with 3 rivets. Drill out the rivets and pull the "X" off. Inside, you'll find 14 (if memory serves me correctly) sections of 1/8" hardware cloth cut into wavy disks. Pull each disk out, scrape them down, soak them, repaint them, and re-assemble the unit. I was amazed at some of the bug skeletons, dirt, grime,a nd misc other items that I found in the disks. If you want, I can send over some "how-to" photos of the process that I took when I did mine.

Nope, down in the basement shop breath'n rust and lead paint dust. As soon as it gets warm enough though, I expect you to bring up, whoops down them sprayers.
