Will a AC 500 loader off of a 175 fit onto a 6060. Thinking of updating tractors.

The frame on the 175 is wider at the front than at the rear,the frame rails on the 6060 are parrel to each other so to mount the loader you would have to remodel the loader side frames,also the rear mounting brackets would need to be changed as the 175 has the final drives on the outer and the 6060 has the finldrives inner. The loader can be mounted but it will take some remodeling.

Do yourself a favor, keep the 175 and forget you ever heard of 6060,6070 or 6080. They are not that great of a tractor. If I remember correctly, the trans and rear are Fiat and some of the internal parts are not available anymore or are more expensive than a new tractor. I have run both and the 175 will be around longer.

Keep the 175! ESP. if it is a diesel. The Perkins
engine parts are reasonable and it is MUCH cheaper
to work on the trans. and rearend.
We had a 6080 FWA that didn't have too many hrs.
on it with a westendorf loader. While we did some
discing and planting with ours the 4cyl. engine
was somewhat low on power.
Plus the classic square AC frontend on the 175
looks SO much better than the 6000 series.

The 175 needs some transmision work, hydraulic work and motor work. Has had the loader on it since 1974 (when bought new) and broken in 4 boys on loader use. Tractor is just plain tired. $1,400 for a new hyd. pump, not sure about gears, well rounded probably need replaced, you can turn the motor over by hand (its a diesel). Probably looking at 5 to 6K to get back into nice shape, but then would probably have a nice tractor for another 30+ years. Just thought it would be easyer to trade up. Sounds like it might not be a trade up though. Thanks, I did not know that there where rear end probs on that series.

A hydraulic pump, not sure if yours is external like on the early 7000's, but they can be replaced by one from McMaster-Carr (if you find the correct match!) or I think Abilene Machine does rebuilds or will sell you the lobes, bearings, plates, whatever, I asked about that not too long ago, since I need to overhaul my 7000, I think the plate and rotors were about $350. Good luck, keep the old one!!

Not only that,if you don't use the 'seasonal disconnect' on the PTO, it put excess pressure against the crankshaft and wears out the thrust bearing and/or crankshaft face. They were not very strong on low end of rpm range. Once you get them wound up they run good, but boy they suck when RPM drops off.

It will be possible to fit your loader with ease. you will have to work a bit but it,s not very hard to do. The rear end of 6060 is less trouble then the 175. 3 and 4 gears are syncho. very similar hydr, pump, valve. and the 6060 engine is very more powerful then the 175 engine and less expensive on fuel. It's commun to see 75 to 80 h.p on dyno with 6060.More torq at the same rpm than the 175. Yes some parts are more expensive. I sold both tractors and a lot less trouble with 6000 series(30 to 40 170 and 175 vs 35 to 40 6060. 6070 and 6080.

5 tractors; 1-6060, 1-6070, 3-6080's.

6060 16,000 hours, no trans or rear end work. Engine on second rebuild.

6070 8,000 hours, no trans work, had pinion bearing go bad, N/A through Agco, got from Fiat Dealer. First rebuild on engine.

6080's 1 @ 12,000 hours, 2 between 10,000 & 11,000 hours. All on first engine rebuild. Absolutely no trans or rear end work has been done, including hydraulic or brake work on any of the five tractors.

These are used on a large produce farm and are operated by many different people in any one day. Don't believe you will ever find a more solid tractor in this horsepower range.

Great to see someone had very good service from the 6000 series. I wish I could say the same for the ones I new of.

I didn't intend to imply the 175 wasn't a good horse, quite the opposite.

We have had extremely good service from the 6000 series without much tender loving care. I just felt it needed to be told.

We have 56 wheel tractors on the farm, some 50 years old and still farming every day through the summer. Some orange, some light green, some dark green with yellow highlites, and even some red.
