Hey out there, I was wondering how scarce are Allis WD-45 Diesels? I have been lookinf for a new project, and the WD-45 Diesel caught my eye, for many practical reasons. I like Allises, and you just don't see many of the Diesels. If anyone has any leads on one, or has one they would like to sell (or give, can't blame me for hoping) in the Midwest, please let me know. Any leads on one would be nice as well.

I'm afraid Ken is mistaken ,The WD 45 Diesels did NOT have a Perkins engine, The engine that was used in the 45's was a Buda. I've got one, if I could find a better one, I'd sell mine.

I know of an older gentleman that has one (wide front) and it has set for a couple of years without running, but did run when he parked it. I could get you his number if interested. I am just finishing a complete rebuild/restore on a 1956 WD-45 Diesel wide front with power steering. Going to try and get the new tires put on this weekend and it'll be done.

Don't blame you for wanting one.Best tractor on a square baler that I ever used. I believe they have a Budah engine and that parts are very hard to come by. Least that is what people around hear have told me when I went to looking.

there are a few out there but hard to find they had a perkins in them and most all cracked between the cylinders on the web. be cautious look for stop leak in rad. most people put in Water Glass to stop the leak Expencive to repair the engine.

Third Brush Generators - by Chris Pratt. While I love straightening sheet metal, cleaning, and painting old tractors, I use every excuse to avoid working on the on the electrics. I find the whole process sheer mystery. I have picked up and attempted to read every auto and farm electrics book with no improvement in the situation. They all seem to start with a chapter entitled "Theory of Electricity". After a few paragraphs I usually close the book and go back to banging out dents. A good friend and I were recently discussing our tractor electrical systems when he stated "I figure it all comes back to applying Ohms Law". At this point
