Getting a Cultivator for my C

I have a Model C Allis with a narrow front. I found a cultivator for a C a few hours drive away. How do I tell if it's the right one? He said it does 4 rows (2 in front and 2 mid). Offhand I don't see how that would work with a narrow front. Any help would be appreciated.

Chuck, I'm not familiar with the four-row cultivator, and I don't know what model you have, but I do have an assembly manual for a C cultivator that I would be happy to copy and send to you. It will take some time as I'm on the road for my company for another week in Florida and won't be back home to Michigan till after the 20th, but if it would be of help, I'd be happy to get it to you later this month.

Thanks Dave. Turns out it was a 2 row cultivator and that seems better anyway. Each side has 4 shanks. The front gangs bolt onto the front bar, and there are rods that extend behind the seat to lift it up and down. Then there's a bar that attaches in back too. I'd love to see the assembly manual you have. I've never tried to hook up a cultivator, but I wanted to try it instead of getting a 3-pt hitch. Please click on my name link and write me back.

the manual for the NO. 80's series "c" cultivator does list a 4 row its a model 86 it shows 18,20,24" row spacing. one row each side of narrow front end and one row each just inside rear wheels the cultivators come in 3 seperate sections one for each side for front of tractor and a third beam that streaches accross the rear of the machine. the manual stated that the front tool bars normally have 10 shanks each and the rear beam normally has 3. I think that I have also seen a picture over on the unofficial allis site in the picture gallery. aj
