Hello all,

I have a 1952 CA that has the RPM hunt at about 1/2 throttle. I have checked the fuel flow at the carb and found it to be good. I checked the carb and found no blockages. Thinking that it might be a blockage at the air intake I removed it as well but the problem remains. Maybe one of you pros have an idea? Thanks in advance Wade.

Check for spring on throttle linkage in back of carb which is hooked to the throttle rod. other end of this spring is anchored to intake manifold stud. If it is disconnected the engine will "hunt" and not run at a steady speed.

the governor (speed control) is mounted at the front right side of the motor. the throttle lever goes to it, and tnesioner spring holds lever across front to left side, then rod to carburetor. any change in adjustment of the linkage could cause this. broken spring could cause this. while parked and it is hunting, put your finger on the governor external spring and see if it is "moving" do the same for the rod to the carburetor. maybe you just need a spring on the carb linkage. if it is hunting and no change in the linkage or governor, then consider carb internal.
