D17 engine fit in WC??

We are builing a wc for pulling and somone told me that a D17 engine would bolt right in the unstyled WC. Does anyone know if this is true? Also, what is the bore and stroke on a D17?

And I think the 170 engine is the same block too, will have even more power.

a friend of mine is doing the same swap. d-17 should be 4" bore, 4 1/2" stroke.

mine is an "E" block from a combine
use the wc front pulley, clutch and water manifold. might have to build a cover from the fuel pump. down size for pulling, that 20% over for a WC is slower than factory rpm on a D-17
hope I don't get my but kicked by that new 66
