Forgot to ask about which direction to turn the locks to get them off?
Thanks for the suggestions, looks like the job is going to suck. Also, has anyboby tried to heat them with a torch with any success?

Dick, if you're trying to narrow or widen your rear wheels, the info below is correct. Use plenty of PB blaster and some heat won't hurt either. They just loosen, stomp the brake and put it in gear to turn wheel to move.

If you're trying to get the wheel off, you need to remove the lock assembly from the hub. Then the lock assembly will come off the rim. The lock 'bolts' DON'T come out the front. There is a lock ring on the back side holding them in.

They are a right-hand thread. Start with the one on the top. When tightening them, start at the bottom and work your way around, doing the top one last. Using a torch on them when they are on the rim is likely to burn the tube. Once you get them loose, dissasemble them, clean and lube. Should be ok after that. They get tight from sitting too long.

Actually they are just an eccentric shaft and have no threads on them. They have a snap ring keeper on the back....if worse comes to worse take the wheel off and remove the 8 bolts holding the assemblies on. Lay the wheel flat with a block of wood on the hub off to one side. Give it a whack with a sledge hammer and it will pop out. Remove snap rings from assemblies and drive the eccentric pins out. You may need to use heat or a press. You can also soak the whole thing in diesel fuel for a while. After the eccentrics are removed, wire brush them and reassemble with anti-seize. Put one assembly on the hub, insert into rim and work the other 3 in place. Make sure you have the 4 little wear blocks in place.

Hi Eldon thats how I did it with my Ca I couldnt get it in between the fenders on my trailer to get it home. I knew if I forced them I would break them as the tractor hadn't been used in at least ten years, took a lot of PB Blaster and elbow grease.T.J.

The locks can take alot more than you think without breaking. I had some once that I had to get a 1" drive 3/4 socket so I could use my 1" impact. You can use heat also. I don't think you have to worry about melting the tube as long as you don't heat the rim itself.

You turn them in the normal direction to loosen something. Also there is a tab that keeps them from being turned too far either tight or loose, look and see the tab on the head part of the "bolt" and you will need to turn it to move the tab over to the "other" position or direction.
