From the info I have in front of me, "Conformatic" must have been an aftermerket sleeve company of small stature, and like what you have. all kits listed in the vintage catalog I see are for 4 ring pistons. All with one oil control ring. These are listed as "W series engines" (which is the larger family WB, WD, WF, etc), and the specific WD listings show a 4 inch bore except diesel. However, I wonder if someone may not have machined a couple of lands on each piston, because there is a 5 ring piston listed for the GMC "400 6 cylinder", that has two 3/16 oil rings and three 1/8 inch compression rings (with one chrome).- Long shot (especially not knowing where the pis are in relation to the top), but maybe that is all that the "Conformatic" sets really were? There is also a chance that some of the widths may be different due to a shim that was sometimes used on pistons that had ring lands machined to an oversize width to true them up and square them up. If there were no shims, then there was nothing special done to the pistons, and Conformatic is the company that made the parts. It may be more cost effective to go with a new set of pistons than to buy two engine sets to make one set of rings for your engine.
